Congratulations to alumni Sam Wathier and Luka Gelinas, who were drafted in the 2024 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection!

Sam was drafted in the 5^th round, 96^th overall by the Windsor Spitfires and Lukas was selected in the 9^th round, 165^th overall by the Peterborough Petes.

Sam, a 6’2 defenseman with the Eastern Ontario Wild U16 AAA had 14 points in 30 games and was recently selected to the U17 US National Team Development Program. You can read more about Sam here.

Luka is a 6’1 goaltender and a teammate of Sam on the Eastern Ontario Wild U16 AAA. He went 6-7-3 for his squad this season.

Luka attended CIHA for one season in 2021-2022 for U15 AAA as an underage player. While the team didn’t finish with a great record, Luka was often our best player each night, making highlight reel saves and keeping his team in games.

We wish Luka and Sam nothing but the best as they continue on their hockey journey!
