The CIH Academy is owned and operated as a not-for-profit entity. While most private schools build profit margins into their rates, CIH Academy aims only to recover its costs. Any surplus is reinvested in the campus in the form of infrastructure renewal.
Our on-campus infirmary includes all the facilities necessary to treat and isolate sick athletes. For more serious health concerns, the Clarence-Rockland Family Health Team clinic is minutes away and the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) offers exceptional medical facilities in nearby Ottawa.
Your child's safety is our top priority. The CIH Academy’s residence has two sets of house parents on duty every evening and all day on the weekends. The campus buildings are linked by well-lit pedestrian walkways and secured overnight by electronic access. Students are not permitted to leave campus unaccompanied and are well supervised during all off-campus activities.
If they’re not at a weekend tournament, CIH Academy students spend their weekends studying, socializing or taking part in an organized activity. They may visit Ottawa, the nation's capital, for outings that are educational (touring Parliament Hill or visiting museums or historic sites) or simply fun (skating on the Rideau Canal, the world's longest outdoor skating rink, or hiking in Gatineau Park). House parents also organize on-campus events to bring students together and foster a sense of family and fun.
