CIHA Well Represented at CCHL Draft
04/19/2024The Central Canada Hockey League draft took place on Thursday evening and saw 5 current student-athletes get selected along with 3 alumni.
We’d like to extend a congratulations to student-athletes Lukas Reisen, Nathan Landriault, Mathias Hoyle, Alex Thompson, and Tucker Clare. Our alumni who heard their names called were Luka Gelinas, Sam Wathier and Konstantine Vriniotis. Your hard work and dedication this season did not go unnoticed!
Lukas, a 5’10 forward from Ashton, Ontario had 32 points in 43 games for U16 AAA and is in his first season at CIHA. He was drafted by the Carleton Place Canadians in the 6th round, 66th overall.
Nathan, a 5’11 forward from Orleans, Ontario had 8 points in 11 games with U16 AAA and 7 points in 12 games with U18 Prep. Nathan is in his 2nd season at CIHA. He was drafted by the Rockland Nationals in the 6th round, 69th overall.
Mathias is a 6’1 defenseman from Chalk River, Ontario in his first season with CIHA. He had 3 points in 44 games with U16 AAA. He was drafted by the Pembroke Lumber Kings in the 9th round, 101st overall.
Alex, a 6’1 forward from Ottawa, Ontario had 7 points in 36 games with U16 AAA is in his first season at CIHA. He was drafted by the Carleton Place Canadians in the 10th round, 114th overall.
Tucker, a 6’1 defenseman his 4th season at CIHA had 20 points in 42 games with U16 AAA. He was drafted by Rockland Nationals in the 12th round, 141st overall.
All five of these boys contributed greatly to the strong season that U16 AAA had, which included tournament championships in Kingston and Niagara Falls along with being a finalist in others.
Alum Luka Gelinas, a goaltender was selected in the 1st round, 4th overall by the Hawkesbury Hawks.
Alum Sam Wathier, a defenseman was selected in the 8th round, 96th overall by the Navan Grads.

Konstantin, a 6’0 forward from Montreal, Quebec was drafted in the 8th round, 85th overall by the Brockville Braves. Konstantin had 36 points in 29 games for Ottawa Jr. 67’s U18 AAA. He attended CIHA for one season in 2020-2021 for U15 AAA.
The Central Canada Hockey League in a top Junior A league centrally based in Ottawa, Ontario and is seen as a stepping stone to Major Junior and the NCAA.
