Blyth Academy offers a private-school education focused on personalized and experiential learning. Their approach fully engages students in the academic process with a learning experience founded on curiosity, creativity and innovative thinking. This cutting-edge program ensures that students stay on top of their studies and helps them to achieve their full potential, in and out of the classroom. At Blyth Academy, every student is involved in classroom discussion and receives close attention from the teacher. This approach fosters an atmosphere of active participation by the entire class every day. Teachers teach the student, not just the curriculum. Blyth Academy tailors the curriculum to the student—not the other way around. Taking into account each student’s learning style and extracurricular responsibilities, Blyth Academy can customize a plan that is unique to the individual student.

ONTARIO SECONDARY SCHOOL DIPLOMA (OSSD)

Students of Blyth@CIHA will complete their secondary school studies in compliance with requirements set out in Ontario Schools, Kindergarten to Grade 12: Policy and Program Requirements 2011. Teachers deliver course materials according to Ontario Ministry of Education Guidelines and the student receives credit on his or her Ontario Student Transcript.

Each credit is a full-term course, unless otherwise stated, and credit is awarded upon successful completion of the prescribed curriculum. Each Grade 9-12 course is scheduled for a minimum of 110 hours, with the exception of the half credits in Career Studies and Civics and Citizenship, which are scheduled for a minimum of 55 hours and carry the value of one half credit.
