Congratulations to our U16 Prep team who won the Kingston Fall Bash Tournament!

The boys went 4-1-1, including a dramatic comeback in the finals. They are also back to back champions with our U16 Prep team winning this tournament last year.

After four round robin games, the boys were 2-1-1 with wins over Ted Reeve and Kingston, a loss to Syracuse and a tie vs Rochester.

They would advance to the semi-finals against Buffalo where the game would be 0-0 and we would need a shootout to decide things. Ivan Izotov stopped all four shooters while Matteo Arriaga scored the lone goal and game winner, securing a spot in the finals.

That would set up a rematch vs Syracuse which the team lost to 5-4 in the round robin. After the 1^st period, the boys would be down 4-1 and things weren’t looking good.

Cue the comeback.

Connor Welsh scored the lone 2^nd period goal to make it 4-2 and then Leo Stretti, Kenshin Saito and Tobias Lednicky would all add goals in the 3^rd period while Ivan Izotov shut the door the rest of the way to secure the victory.

Leading scorers across 6 games were Connor Welsh (6g, 2a), Tobias Lednicky (4g, 4a) and Oliver Matthewman (3g, 2a), while Ivan Izotov went 3-0-1 with a 1.73 GAA.

Well done to these boys who never gave up and are the Kings of Kingston!
