PAIR OF STUDENTS DRAFTED TO THE OHL
04/10/2018Congratulations to Donovan Sebrango and Dylan Peterson, who were drafted into the Ontario Hockey League through the 2018 OHL Priority Selection on April 7th.
Donovan was drafted in the 2nd round, 40th overall to the Kitchener Rangers and Dylan was selected in the 7th round, 126th overall to the Ottawa 67’s.Donovan, an assistant captain and defenseman for CIHA White finished 4th in team scoring but was 1st among defenseman with 25 points in 30 games. He also finished 4th in league scoring among defenseman but was 2nd in points per game average. With a combination of high hockey IQ and awareness in all three zones, Donovan is an impact player in every game he plays. He has committed to Boston University for the 2020-2021 season, which didn’t seem to scare off the Rangers from making him a high selection. Dylan, a teammate of Donovan on CIHA White and also an assistant captain led his team in points (35) and assists (23). He is also committed to Boston University for the 2020-2021 season. The highly skilled, 6’3 center is a dual citizen, which may allow him an opportunity to play for the US National Development U17 Team. Dylan was a 1st round prospect for the OHL draft, but teams were wary of using a high pick on him, which is why he fell to the 7th round in the draft. With the 126th pick, the @Ottawa67sHockey select C/RW Dylan Peterson (HEO Rank: 1). Unique combination of size, speed, agility, and skill. Best pro prospect to come out of Ottawa in a decade. Committed to BU and likely to join the USNTDP next season #2018OHLDraft— Brent Craswell (@brent_craswell) April 7, 2018This is a great accomplishment for Donovan and Dylan, and these two boys surely have a bright future ahead on whichever path they choose!
