Congratulations to Jared Weber and Seva Losev who were drafted in the U18 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
Weber, an assistant captain on CIHA Green was drafted in the 2nd round, 23rd overall by the North Bay Battalion. A 6’0 center and excellent two-way player, Weber led his team in scoring during the 16-17 season with 35 points in 45 games while being a mainstay on the penalty kill and powerplay. Losev, who also plays for CIHA Green is a 6’0 winger with a lethal shot and has a nose for the net. He was drafted in the 3rd round, 46th overall by the Ottawa 67’s. Losev led his team with 18 goals and finished second in points with 34 in 43 games. Weber and Losev have followed similar paths before being selected in the OHL Draft. They both came to CIHA in 2014 to play for the Major Bantam AAA team and made a seamless transition together to Midget AAA the next year. This season, they were linemates and first and second in team scoring for CIHA Green. We wish them all the best in the future as opponents, and maybe teammates again down the road.
