From July 21st-26th, we hosted our annual Prospect Camp, which gives prospective student-athletes the full experience of CIHA for one week.
We hosted 15 student-athletes this year who arrived on Sunday evening and were greeted by our Dorm Parents where they had orientation and then settled in for the night.All the staff here for the week are employees at CIHA during the season. From the coaches to the house parents and even the chefs in the kitchen. We are aiming to give each student-athlete a similar experience to what a week at CIHA would look like from September-June, minus the school work of course!Monday morning began with breakfast at our cafeteria which is just steps away from the dorms. The rest of the daily schedule from Monday-Friday included multiple on-ice sessions, off-ice training, team building, video, a full facility tour, and an NCAA presentation. We also took a trip to Calypso Waterpark and to a Canadian Football League game to see the Ottawa RedBlacks.On Thursday and Friday, we had a special guest join us in Dylan Peterson. Dylan played at CIHA for two seasons from 2016-2018, and just finished a great first season with the United States National Team Development Program U17.We hope everyone enjoyed their experience during the week and we’re looking forward to the next one!
