2019 MCLEOD CUP

12/13/2019

As we enter into the holiday break, that means it’s time for the annual tradition of the McLeod Cup, an event that everyone circles on their calendars.
The McLeod Cup combines all participating staff, students and alumni into a pool and a live draft then takes place. A tournament style format is then played with a winning team being crowned at the end. A perfect way to let loose and see the lighter side of the students and staff before the holiday break. There would be 7 teams in total and about 60 participants in the tournament. The seven goalies, who were team captains and drafted their team’s were Keefer Carriere, Remi Hay, Eamon Charles, Rylan Donovan, alum Jackson Parsons, Landry Laird and CIHA Programs Coordinator, Rejean Amyot. We had several alumni join us for this year’s tournament. They were: Seva Losev (Navan, CCHL) Cameron Pound (Rockland, CCHL), David Dedo (Ottawa, CCHL2), Etienne Agius-Pease (Alexandria, CCHL2), and Jackson Parsons (Cornwall, HEO). Once the teams were selected it was game on! The format would be 15 minute games at 4on4 inside the blue-line. Each team would play four games before being re-seeded and then the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. While it was a friendly tournament, the competition was intense with the amount of highly skilled and competitive students and former professional hockey players on all of the teams. In the end it was Team Hay vs Team Parsons in the finals. They played an intense, competitive game but it would be Team Parsons who came out on top, winning the McLeod Cup for the 2nd year in a row!It was the perfect way to cap off the first three and a half months of school by bringing the CIHA family together one last time in 2019 before the students head home for the holiday break!
