We expect that all students in the CIH Academy hockey program are committed and dedicated to achieving excellence, both academically and athletically. Our ultimate goal: to have athletes graduate from our program, go on to attend college or university, and continue their hockey careers. Comparable to many top universities, our program includes 60 minutes of on-ice training and hockey-specific strength and conditioning four-five days a week—for a full nine months.
Our coaches collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and guidance counsellors in order to find the best post-secondary fit for every student-athlete. Based on our alumni’s successes at the next level of education and play, CIH Academy has built a reputation as one of North America’s premier hockey development programs.

The Ottawa region is renowned for the depth of its hockey culture and its wide range of players and teams. Benefitting from some of the best competition available in Canada, student-athletes at CIH Academy play in a hockey-minded environment while experiencing all the advantages of our prep-school program.
The Midget AA team will be playing in the Hockey East Ontario Minor AA League (HEO Minor AA). The Midget AA league is a very competitive tier 2 league with a 30-game season, playoffs and multiple tournaments.
The focus at CIHA is player development and the goal will be to have our Midget AA players advance to the AAA level in the following year.
In combination with the Blyth Academy curriculum, student-athletes will be challenged to succeed on and off the ice. Thanks to the unique CIH Academy campus, all Midget AA players will be in a positive learning environment to develop and progress in their hockey and academic careers.
The CIHA Development Program is made up of student-athletes from grades 8-12. The objective of the program is to develop the individual both athletically as a hockey player and personally as a growing and maturing student-athlete.
The Development Program may participate in exhibition games and tournaments throughout the season.
CIH Academy offers a non-residential version of its programming for boys in Grades 8–12 from Eastern Ontario and Western Quebec.
