Alumni Set for NHL, PHF Training Camps
09/24/2021With National Hockey League training camps beginning this week and the Professional Hockey Federation camps beginning shortly, several alumni will be looking to crack their team’s roster on opening night.
We take a look at those alumni who will be attending camps.Gabriel Vilardi – Los Angeles Kings, NHLGabe is entering his 4th season as a part of the Los Angeles Kings organization and really hit his stride last year, putting up 23 points in 54 games. With his injury issues behind him, Gabe is a lock to make the Kings opening night roster and it’s just a matter of where he plays in the lineup.Autumn MacDougall – Buffalo Beauts, PHFAutumn made her Beauts debut in January as the league competed in a short tournament for the Isobel Cup. Autumn had a great performance, scoring three times in six games, proving that she is ready for a prominent role with the Beauts.Donovan Sebrango – Detroit Red Wings, NHLOn January 20th, 2021, barely 19, Donovan signed an amateur tryout with the Grand Rapids Griffins due to the Ontario Hockey League unable to start their season. He would end up playing 31 games for the Griffins, contributing 4 assists and establishing himself as a top defensive prospect in the Detroit Red Wings organization. He has a chance to play some games for the big club this season.Jasper Weatherby – San Jose Sharks, NHLFresh off signing his entry-level contract with the Sharks, Jasper attended their Development Camp in August and then their Rookie Camp which just finished up and he certainly made an impression on management. Jasper has the size and plays a pro game and will be in a battle for a spot on the final roster. Semyon Der-Arguchintsev – Toronto Maple Leafs, NHLSDA has attended a couple of Toronto training camps already but he knew he needed some more seasoning to be ready for the pro game. This time around he’ll be pushing for a spot on the big club or at least have management take notice that he should be one of the first call-ups when needed.Pavel Gogolev – Toronto Maple Leafs, NHLAfter going undrafted to the NHL, Pavel signed an AHL contract with the Toronto Marlies last season and put up 12 points in 13 games. He’s now prepared for his first NHL training camp and looking to make his mark along with alum SDA. in 2015-2016, they formed a dynamic duo at CIHA and dominated Hockey Eastern Ontario. Manix Landry – Arizona Coyotes, NHLIt’s been a busy summer for Manix. After being drafted in the 5th round, 139th in July, Manix attended the Coyotes Development and Rookie Camp over the last few weeks and will now attend the main camp looking to make an impression on management.
