Two Alumni Listed on NHL Central Scouting’s Preliminary Ranking
The NHL released their preliminary prospect rankings for the 2023 NHL Draft which featured alumni Etienne Morin and Jackson Parsons.
Etienne was listed with a B rating, which indicates a 2nd/3rd round candidate and Jackson was listed with a C rating, which indicates a 4th/5th/6th round candidate.
Etienne, a 6’0 defenseman is in his second season for the Moncton Wildcats of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Last year, he put up 33 points in 64 games which are great numbers for a rookie defender. This season, Etienne has taken things to the next level with 11 points in 10 games as NHL scouts watch his every move.
Etienne played two seasons at CIHA from 2019-2021. In 2019-2020, at just 14 years old and playing a year up, he contributed 22 points in 44 games for CIHA White U18 AAA. There were no games in 2020-2021 due to COVID-19.
Jackson, a 6’1 goaltender is in his second season with the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League. He played 22 games in 2020-2021, posting a 9-10-2 record and also played in 5 playoff games. So far this season, he’s 1-4 across 5 games.
Jackson played one season at CIHA in 2018-2019 for U15 AAA. He played in 25 games and had an 8-16-1 record, and was often the best player on the ice and stole games for his team.
Wishing Etienne and Jackson great seasons with their teams, and to hopefully hear their named called at the 2023 NHL Draft in June!
