Alum Donovan Sebrango Wins World Junior Gold for Canada

Congratulations to alum Donovan Sebrango, who won the gold medal with Team Canada at the U20 World Junior Championship.
Team Canada defeated Finland 3-2 in overtime to secure the gold medal.
Donovan played a key role throughout the tournament, being deployed on the top defensive pairing while getting plenty of time on the penalty kill as well. He finished the tournament with 2 assists and a +7 rating in 7 games. He was also named an assistant captain.
This tournament was a reboot of the one normally held just after Christmas, which was cancelled after a few days due to COVID-19.
Donovan, a 3rd round draft pick of the Detroit Red Wings in 2020 will now begin his preparations for training camp which will begin in a few weeks. He’s played the last two seasons with Detroit’s  AHL  affiliate, Grand Rapids, and will have his sights set on making the Red Wings full time.
