Alum Daniel Johnson Drafted by Youngstown of the USHL
Congratulations to alum Daniel Johnson, who was drafted in the 5th round, 61st overall by the Youngstown Phantoms of the United States Hockey League.
The USHL is a Tier I junior hockey league based in the Midwestern United States.
Daniel, a 5’9 defenseman from Edgewood, Maryland played two seasons at CIHA from 2018-2020 both for U15 AAA. His first season for U15 AAA was as an underage player and he had a great season, contributing 17 points in 29 games. In his second season he showed tremendous improvement with 29 points in 28 games, and was second on the team with 14 goals while also being named an assistant captain. He was also called up to U18 AAA Green and played 17 games while adding 8 points.
This season, Daniel played for the Chicago Young Americans and had a dominant season with 50 points in 57 games, good for 4th in team scoring.
