Weekly Wrap-Up - Week 9

The weekly wrap-up summarizes each game over the past week and looks ahead to future games.
October 24th-27th
Prep Tournament – Boston, Massachusetts
After picking up the first win in Prep history the weekend prior in Detroit, the Prep boys were full of confidence as they hit the road to Boston for the Beantown Classic.
They hit the ground running, picking up a 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Hockey Club on Thursday night. Friday brought a double-header and the boys made it two in a row with a 4-2 win over Palmyra. Their second game of the day was an 8-1 loss against what was essentially an All-Star team in Beantown Green. Game four on Saturday was another great game by the boys against Islanders North but it would end in a 3-3 tie. Unfortunately, no individual stats are available from the tournament.
It was a great weekend from the boys as they went 2-1-1 and are starting to see results of their hard work in practice carry over to the games.
October 25th
Midget White (7)
OHA Maroon (2)
Midget White took it to OHA from start to finish in this one, nearly doubling them in shots with a 40-22 advantage. Andrei Svalov picked up 3 goals and 1 assist while Francis Plant got the win in goal.
Midget Green (0)
OHA Gold (4)
Despite firing 34 shots on goal, Midget Green were not able to muster any offense in this one as they fall to OHA.
October 26th
Bantam (1)
Upper Canada (5)
Down 3-0, Timur Kadirov scored at the last possible second in the 2nd period to cut the lead to two but the boys were unable to build off of that entering the 3rd period. Upper Canada would add two more goals to put this one away.

Midget AA (4)
Nepean (6)
Plenty of highs and lows in this one as the boys battled back from 2-0 to tie the game only to see Nepean rattle off four straight goals. The boys would add two more goals in the 3rd period but they wouldn’t be able to get any closer than that. Congratulations to Evgenii Kurov and Jack Percy who picked up their first goals at CIHA!
Midget White (7)
Cornwall (5)
Down 3-0 early in the 2nd period, Midget White stormed back with 4 goals in 6 minutes to take the lead. The teams would trade goals but White would seal it with an empty netter late in the 3rd. Ilnar Fakhrutdinov, Etienne Morin and Andrei Svalov contributed with multi-point efforts.

Midget Green (2)
Rockland (5)
Tied at 2-2 after the 2nd period, Rockland would score the only 3 goals in the 3rd as Midget Green let this one slip away. Milo Roelens and Artur Zaripov were your goal-scorers.
October 27th
Midget AA (2)
Kanata (3)
A pair of Bantam call-ups in Brian Chun and Timur Kadirov did the scoring in this one as the AA’s just fell short in this penalty filled affair.
October 28th
Midget Green (1)
Brockville (4)
Playing their 3rd game in 3 days and with a short bench to boot, the boys simply ran out of steam in this one. Artur Zaripov scored his team’s lone goal.
October 29th

Midget AA (2)
Cumberland (6)
Down 4-0 after the 1st, the boys would cut that lead in half but unfortunately that would be as close as they got. Danil Sayamov and David Swanson were your goal scorers.
