Weekly Wrap-Up - Week 14

The weekly wrap-up summarizes each game over the past week and looks ahead to future games.
December 6th
Midget Green (4)
Navan (8)
Tied at 4 after two periods, the wheels fell off in the 3rd for Green. Navan would score 4 unanswered goals to run away with the game. Brendan Boyce (2g, 1a) had a big game offensively, but this is one the boys would like to forget.
December 7th-9th
Midget AA Tournament (Pickering, Ontario)
Back on the road for their second tournament in as many weekends, the AA’s headed to Pickering, Ontario for another jam packed schedule of hockey.
This was an interesting tournament for the boys, who went 0-3-1. All three of their losses came by only one goal, so a couple of favorable bounces and they could’ve been playing in the quarter-finals.
Friday yielded a 3-2 loss to the Kent Cobras and a 2-1 loss to the Richmond Hill Stars later that evening. The boys tied the North Toronto Jr. 1-1 and then fell 4-3 to the Lasalle Sabres to round out their weekend.
Despite not making it to the elimination round, these boys continue to improve and show what kind of team they are. They never give up and give everything they have until the final buzzer.

Bantam Tournament (Hamilton, Ontario)
The Bantam’s headed to Hamilton bright and early on the morning of the 7th for their final tournament before the holiday break.
They began their Friday with a pair of identical games against the Nickel City Sons and Windsor Jr. Spitfires where both ended in a 2-2 tie. Saturday brought on the Burlington Eagles who they just fell short against, losing 2-1. The 2nd game was a must win against the Brantford 99ers and the boys stepped up, winning 4-2 and advancing to the quarter-finals. They would face the Spitfires again, but fall 4-2, ending their tournament.
It was another great showing for the boys who are often the youngest team at their tournaments and usually play with a few less players than most teams.
Titus Odermatt (4g, 2a) led the way offensively, while Amine Hajibi, Kieran Chung and Mathieu Fehr each had 4 points.
