CIH ACADEMY AT BOB HARTLEY HIGH INTENSITY CAMP ...

Our Tailored Curriculum

The Upper Canada District School Board oversees the academic education of the Canadian International Hockey Academy. By participating in a public school board, students are guaranteed to meet the requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education for earning the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD), a well-respected high school diploma recognized at universities and colleges throughout Canada, the United States, and worldwide.

Our unique program will consist of self-paced Independent Learning Modules (ILM) as well as E-learning, all facilitated by qualified and certified teachers. In ILM, students will work individually at their own pace on courses developed and approved by the Ontario Ministry of Education. Our teachers and school principal, Mr. Frank Hummel, will monitor their progress through the lesson plans, all within our state-of-the-art classrooms. Students will also have the opportunity to access over 120 Ministry-developed online courses, in which they can communicate with classmates from all over Ontario working on the same subjects. Working independently will allow students the opportunity to engage with a variety of advanced subjects and material, while the small class size and teacher-to-student ratio will allow teachers to give students the quality one-on-one in-class assistance they deserve.

Each classroom will include designated study rooms for small group collaborations on projects and lessons, allowing students to interact with their peers in constructive, educational ways.

As part of the academic program, all students will receive one new laptop computer to use while they are attending CIH Academy. This cutting-edge program will ensure students are able to stay on top of studies even while traveling in hockey tournaments, as well as teaching students the technological skills they need to compete in an increasingly internet-based world.

Students will also complete forty hours of community service during their high school career in accordance with Ontario Ministry of Education guidelines.

Our tailored prep school program ensures that CIH Academy will equip your student with the skills and education to succeed in school, in hockey, and in life.
